The goal of 2023 has been achieved.
Samseonjung won 105-60 against Songdojung in the South Central finals of the 2023 Korea Middle and High School Basketball Weekend League Wangjung Wangjeon at the Yanggu-gun Sports Complex in Gangwon Province on Wednesday. With this victory, 스포츠토토 Samsunjung won its fifth title this year and remained the strongest team in the secondary school division.
The game was decided earlier than expected. Samseonjung used their height, strength, and speed to take advantage of Songdojoong. After finishing the first quarter with a 31-9 lead, Samseonjoong closed out the game without allowing any room for error.
Samsunjung’s Yoon Ji-hoon was named the MVP. He led the team’s offense with 24 points, 16 assists, four rebounds, and four steals in the final.
“I thought it was going to be a tough game, but luckily the whole team was focused from the beginning and we were able to win,” Yoon said after the tournament.
Yoon also won MVP honors at the Spring League in March. “I want to go undefeated in 2023 and win the entire championship, so I can raise Samseonjoong’s name,” he said at the time. Since then, the team has won every tournament they’ve competed in, winning five titles before this one.
“There was a lot of pressure as we became known as the strongest team in the secondary school division, and we were worried that we might lose,” said Yoon. “My teammates were also under pressure, but we didn’t say anything special to each other. We all knew what to do, and we just talked about focusing and doing well before the game,” he said.
“Of course, after every game, we think about what we didn’t do well, but we’re happy and feel good that we were able to end the year with the results we wanted, both individually and as a team.”
Sam Sun-joong and Yoon Ji-hoon with their big achievements in 2023. But Yoon has another goal in mind.
“Now I have to use the time I have left to study. I want to do well in my exams. I don’t have a favorite subject,” he smiles shyly.
With the secondary school stage secured, Yoon and his twin brother, Yoon Ji-won, will most likely go to the same high school. While it’s hard for a first grader to make a big impact on the high school stage, we’re looking forward to seeing what the Yoon siblings will do in the future.
