Arsenal have made a move for Victor Yokerez (25-Sporting).
Arsenal are returning to their former glory under Mikel Arteta. After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title last season, the Gunners have remained strong this season and are in a tight title race with Liverpool and Manchester City. They also recently reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) for the first time in 14 years.
Still, Arsenal has a problem. Their strikers. The Gunners acquired Gabriel Jesus from Man City ahead of last season. They hoped that Arteta would be the man up front. Jezuzu has the moves and skills, but he’s been plagued by injury.
His backup, Eddie Nketiah, is also struggling, so Arteta has been utilizing Kai Havertz and Leandro Trosar as his zero-tops. This is in contrast to Man City, who have a clear-cut striker in Elling Holland.
Eventually, the Gunners decided that they needed to sign a new striker, and Yokers was their target. According to Football Transfer, “Arsenal sent a scout to observe Yokers. The scout was very pleased with his performance and the Gunners are preparing to make an offer.”
Jokerses is a Swedish international whose strength is his physicality. Despite his height, he has the pace to break down the opposition defense and score goals. He is a ‘man of steel’ who rarely suffers from injuries, which is a concern for Arsenal.
Yokerez came up through the youth ranks of his home country’s 토토사이트 Frommapoikarna before moving to Brighton, where he broke into the English Championship (Second Division). After a spell at Coventry, he joined Sporting last summer. This season, he has scored 22 goals in 24 games in the Portuguese league.
According to Sporting Witness, Arsenal are even considering paying a buyout clause for him. His buyout clause is a whopping €100 million. That’s a lot of money to spend on a player. Sporting are also planning to increase the buyout to make sure they don’t let him go easily.
