After ‘high school student’ Kim Tae-hee (18-Iri Gonggo) won gold in the women’s hammer throw on the first day of athletics at the Hangzhou Asian Games (29 September), South Korean athletics failed to add a medal on the third day.

Yaqoub Al-Youha (Kuwait) and Sunya Takayama (Japan) were equal to one thousandth of a second at 13.409. This is the first time the men’s 110 metres hurdles has been jointly won at an Asian Games.
Al-Youha became the first Kuwaiti to be crowned Asian Games men’s 110m hurdles champion.
In the women’s pole vault final, Shin Soo-soo (25-KANGPOW) finished eighth with a height of 3.60m.
Li Rong (CHN), who holds the Asian record of 4m72, won her third consecutive Asian Games title with a meet record of 4m63.
Lee Hee-jin (24, Cheongyang-Guncheong) finished ninth out of 15 in the women’s long jump final with a distance of 6.06m, while Kim Il-hyun (29, Gyeongju-Sanchi) was 10th out of 11 in the men’s discus with 48.62m.
Medals will be on the line on the third day.
The Korean relay team of Lee Jung-tae (27-Anyang City Hall), Kim Kook-young (32-Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall), Lee Jae-sung (22-Korea Gymnastics University) and Park Won-jin (20-Sokcho City Hall), who finished second overall in the men’s 400 metres relay qualifying round in 38.75 seconds on the morning of the second day, will look to break the Korean record (38.74 seconds) and win a medal for the first time in 37 years since 1986 in the afternoon final. 파워볼게임
