“It’s an official competition, so we have to win,” says SK head coach Jeon Hee-cheol on his team’s cup ambitions.
Seoul SK won 91-87 against Seoul Samsung in the Group C qualifier of the 2023 MG SaeMaeGogo KBL Cup 토토사이트 at Wolmyeong Gymnasium in Gunsan on Nov. 8.
Head coach Jeon Hee-cheol said, “It’s not a big injury, but we have some injured players. (Kim) Sun-hyung, Gomez (Deliano), (Oh) Se-geun, and (Ahn) Young-joon are the main players, but they have never played together. I’m also worried about our early season schedule because we’ll be traveling a lot. Nine out of 10 games are away, and we have to go to the EASL twice. I’m more worried about the aftermath of the cup than the cup,” he said.
“He hasn’t played in practice because of his injury. Today is his first game. I told him that if he doesn’t make a shot in the third quarter, he won’t come out, but I’m glad that one went in. (Laughs) He’s a very good player, so he does well with the patterns and defensive positions we use. It’s working out as planned.”
Oh made one three-pointer in 11 minutes and 34 seconds of action. Behind the scenes, he did his part on offense and defense. He missed the Asian Games due to injury, but he plans to gradually increase his playing time through this cup tournament.
Coach Jeon Hee-chul said, “He’s been resting (due to injury) since he went to the U.S. training camp. We are working out the details, but it will take more time. (Kim) has been playing for a long time, so he just needs to increase his fitness. (Ahn) Young-joon is in great shape, and (Choi) Boo-Kyung-i’s injury isn’t too bad, so I think he’ll be fine for the regular season.”
