The Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) has elected Park Geun-chan, head of operations, as its new secretary general.
“The KBO held its first board meeting in 2024 and, following a proposal from President Heo Koo-yeon, the board elected KBO’s head of operations, Park Geun-chan, as the new secretary general,” the organization announced today.
According to Article 10 of the KBO’s Articles of Incorporation, the election of the KBO Secretary General is decided by the Board of Directors with the affirmative vote of more than two-thirds of the members, and the term of office is three years.
In addition, Mr. Heo appointed Mr. Moon Jeong-gyun, Head of Baseball Talent Development at the KBO, as President of the KBOP. 바카라사이트 Moon will be confirmed as KBOP CEO by the KBOP Board of Directors in the future.
“In order to enhance the realization of KBO’s policies, present a vision, and strengthen KBOP’s marketing capabilities, we have decided to separate the positions of KBO Secretary General and KBOP CEO,” the KBO said.
Meanwhile, Ryu Dae-hwan, who took over as KBO secretary general in 2019 and also served as KBOP CEO, will retire from his position in December 2023 after completing his term.
